Amy Coplen, RDH, DT, MS

Amy Coplen is Professor and Program Director of the Pacific University School of Dental Hygiene Studies. she was instrumental in the development and successful passage of legislation establishing licensure for dental therapists in Oregon—where she is also among the first to be licensed in this role. She currently serves on the Oregon Board of Dentistry Dental Therapy Rules and Oversight Committee. A passionate advocate for professional empowerment, she is dedicated to demystifying the process of advocacy and inspiring oral health professionals to confidently engage in shaping the future of their profession. Her additional areas of advocacy include modernizing licensure through OSCE (Objective Structured Clinical Examination) implementation and promoting license portability to support workforce mobility and equitable access to dental care nationwide.
